Hundreds of Mwingi residents living at the border between Kitui and Tana River counties have fled their homes and are currently living in the forests for fear of being attacked. The residents were displaced last week after two people were killed by some herders at Kathungu. The residents who hail from Sosoma, Ndooni, and Myuni in Ukasi areas in Mwingi east sub-county are spending sleepless nights in the cold with their children in different camps in the bush. According to Simeon Musyimi, the attackers were herding their cattle armed with guns and machetes.
