29th May, 2020

The national irrigation authority is seeking 600 million shillings through the national budget to complete activities in Galana Kulalu. The authority is currently developing a 10,000-acre model farm expected to act as proof of concept for the implementation of large scale modern crop farming. Water principal secretary joseph Irungu maintained that the progress has been satisfactory since the national irrigation authority took over. He urged the national assembly to approve the additional funds to enable completion of the project.
