Matiang'i, IG order immediate action on police officers filmed clobbering JKUAT student

Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has ordered the immediate arrest and prosecution of police officers captured on camera using excessing force on a JKUAT student. JKUAT was closed indefinitely on Monday, November 11 following students’ protests over rising insecurity in areas around the institution (Juja). Police IG Hillary Mutyambai has affirmed that investigations into the unfortunate incident have commenced. “Following the unfortunate incidence the Internal Affairs Unit has been directed to commence investigations and make recommendations for action within 24 hours. Any police officer found culpable will be held accountable,” read part of the letter from the Office of the IG.
