The hearing of the NYS 2 case kicked off at Milimani law courts

31st October, 2018

The hearing of the NYS 2 case kicked off at Milimani law courts. The prosecution team in its submission indicated they have adequate evidence against former permanent secretary Lilian Omollo and thirty-six other suspects.

Lead prosecutor Joseph Riungu now wants maximum sentence for the accused persons.

Efforts by the defence team to seek an adjournment of the case due to the limited time they had to go through the additional charges files were futile as chief magistrate Douglas Ogoti quashed the request by the defence.
