It is a sad day for Kenya following the death of Former 400M hurdles world champion Nicholas Bett's demise. Bett died in a road crash in Nandi this morning, just a day after returning from the Continental Championships in Nigeria.
The athlete is said to have lost control of his vehicle which rolled along the Eldoret-Kapsabet road. Bett made history in China after becoming the first Kenyan to win a gold medal in a short distance race at the world stage. He won the 400m hurdles finals at the 15th IAAF World Championships in Beijing in 47.79 world leading time, beating Russia’s Dennis Kudryavsten in 2015.
