If NASA is dead it was strangled by your betrayal, ODM's Sifuna tells Wetangula

17th July, 2018

Senator Moses Wetangula on Monday officially announced the exit of Ford-Kenya Party from the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition.

Speaking in Mtwapa after meeting party members from the region, Wetangula said that NASA is now a moribund organization, insisting that betrayal by ODM Leader  Raila Odinga led to the decision.

“We were in NASA as FORD-Kenya in a coalition of the willing, we suffered a massive betrayal by our presidential candidate…” said Wetangula.

In a quick rejoinder, ODM has hit back at Senator Wetangula, alleging that if NASA is dead, then it was killed by the Ford Kenya Party leader who, “chickened out of the swearing in of the Peoples President on 30th January 2018, even after going round the country as a strong proponent of the event.”

According to a statement from ODM Sec Gen Edwin Sifuna, ODM now wants Ford-Kenya party MPs and Senators to relinquish all committee positions of leadership and committee seats they occupy in the houses of parliament, if they indeed are not part of NASA coalition.

“…They say actions speak louder than words. We invite the Ford Kenya Leadership to demonstrate by action that they no longer consider themselves part of NASA by relinquishing all positions of leadership and committee seats they occupy in the houses of parliament by virtue of the Coalition,” read the statement.
