Dr Ekuru Aukot wants the number of Mps reduced to 194

7th April, 2018

Thirdway alliance party leader Ekuru Aukot has began a public initiative to alter the constitution in order to reduce the current composition of elected leaders to just 194. The initiative dubbed “punguza mizigo” seeks to shrink the size of parliament in an effort to reduce what has been termed as a sky rocketing public wage bill. Its certainly not the first time such a move has been attempted with similar initiatives like okoa kenya failing to materialise into a referendum.
