"Fungua-Server Iconic Protester" tells a painful story of a protester

17th February, 2018

NASA legislators are this morning expected to continue with demonstrations against the electoral agency. Several legislators were said to have arrived in the city yesterday and held a meeting with MCAs and officials of affiliate parties. There will be a van going around the town with loud speakers urging picketers to keep off private property and keep peace. Sources among the leaders revealed plans to ensure picketers don't break the law. NASA leader Raila Odinga said they would stage protests every Monday and Friday until their demands ahead of the repeat presidential election are met. Raila noted that picketing is a right guaranteed in the Constitution and accused the Jubilee government of using the police to criminalise it. MPs Fred Ouda (Kisumu Central), Jared Okello (Nyando), James Nyikal (Seme), Aduma Owuor (Nyakach) and Senator Fred Outa announced they would join the protests and urged locals to remain peaceful. Kisumu East MP Shakeel Shabbir, who won as an independent candidate, has not featured in the protests since they started. He reportedly travelled abroad. Kisumu West MP Olago Aluoch (Ford-Kenya) has also been conspicuously absent.
