Still in the corridors of justice, former nominated senator Joy Gwendo has been charged in an anti? corruption court with the theft of sh2.2 million, abuse of office and issuing bouncing cheques. Gwendo who appeared before senior principal magistrate Lawrence Mugambi denied the charges and was freed on a cash bail of ksh. 300,000 or a bond of ksh. 600,000. The former senator allegedly stole over ksh2.2m belonging to Kisumu east cotton growers co?operative society. Other charges levelled against her include issuing forged cheques.
