President Uhuru Kenyatta’s new re-election vehicle Jubilee Party has formally been registered after meeting all requirements, 2 days after the merger of 11 political parties at IKasarani, Nairobi. Speaking to KTN News via phone, the registrar of political parties Lucy Ndungu confirmed the registration of the party stating that she has already received all documents relating to the merger saying she is satisfied they meet requirements of the political parties act. According to the law, she now has seven days to look into all documents submitted by parties that have dissolved into Jubilee Party to establish if they meet legal requirements. On party officials, the registrar noted that since the party was already in existence and only changed the names from Jubilee Alliance Party to Jubilee party, the president and his deputy will decide whether officials from Jubilee Party’s predecessor Jubilee Alliance Party will act as new officials.
