The attack on the police in Mombasa comes as the government moves to beef up its war against terror. In new measures, the director of criminal investigations has set up ten new anti-terrorism police unit stations in new frontiers some of which have suffered attacks. The stations in areas such as Mandera, Garrisa, Daadab and Busia are expected to help in intelligence collection as the government tries to deal with evolving security challenges.
