Former CJ David Maraga faults president Uhuru for rejecting the appoinment of six judges

9th June, 2021

Immediate former Chief Justice David Maraga is warning that the country risks sliding into anarchy if President Uhuru Kenyatta and his administration continue to violate the constitution and disregard court orders. In a hard-hitting statement targeting President Kenyatta, Maraga said failure by the president to gazette six judges nominated by the judicial service commission was tantamount to public lynching and condemning the judicial officers unheard. The former Chief Justice said he will remember president Kenyatta as a head of state who had no regard for the law.
