Tonight, Murang’a senator Irungu Kang’ata has been axed by the jubilee coalition from his position as majority whip in the senate, hardly eight months after his controversial appointment. His Kiambu counterpart Kimani Wamatangi is now the majority whip. The dramatic ouster of Kang'ata was held during an extra ordinary senate parliamentary group meeting chaired by the party’s secretary general Raphael Tuju.
