Cholera Outbreak: Murang'a county on high alert after three people tested positive for Cholera

Panic Has Gripped Murang’a Town And Its Environs Following A Cholera Outbreak That Has Had Three People Hospitalized, One Of Them In Critical Condition. The Three Are In Isolation At Murang’a Level 5 Hospital And Are Receiving Treatment. Murang’a County Disease Surveillance Coordinator Chris Kamau Mwangi, Says That The Cases Were Confirmed Through A Rapid Test That Turned Positive. Further Tests Were Conducted Through Culture And Sensitivity And They All Turned Positive. Public Health Officers Have Since Gone To The Homes Of The Three Victims And Conducted A Fumigation Exercise. Murang’a Public Health Office Has Banned Food Hawking And Cooking Along The Roads In A Bid To Contain The Spread Of The Disease.
