Curse of poverty as thousands of pupils fail to join form one due to lack of fees

For the nearly 700,000 candidates who sat last years KCPE exams, the hopes of joining secondary school may have been realized this past week during the ongoing admission exercise. But for a silent majority, the dream has failed to become a reality after poverty coupled with hard economic times made it impossible for some parents to enroll their children into high school. KTN’s Timothy Otieno reports on how some individuals are now stepping in to save the situation for helpless teenagers where parents and the government have failed to do so.
