The Independent Policing Oversight Authority has launched investigations into Sunday’s fatal shooting of two people by police in Tranz Nzoia. The two were shot during a confrontation between police and civilians who were reportedly attempting to free a suspect who had been arrested. Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has defended the police officers in involved saying they acted in self-defense as local leaders call for action against the law enforcers.
