Surveillance system has helped improve security, says IG Joseph Boinnet

09, Mar 2016

The Kenyan inspector general of police Joseph Boinnet has said security has been managed better since the launch of the surveillance system in Nairobi. The national security surveillance, communication and control system installed by communications provider Safaricom was first rolled out in Mombasa and Nairobi in 2015. Boinnett says the system has so far enabled security personnel to monitor areas under surveillance, detect any security incident, help direct police response and monitor the flow of people and traffic especially in town centers.
