Commercial banks risk losing their licenses if found culpable of graft

Commercial banks have been placed at the center of fighting corruption in Kenya, or risk losing their licenses if found to be culpable. This comes after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s state of the Nation address that saw banks urged to step efforts to ensure the banking system is not used to launder the proceeds of fraud. This comes weeks after the Central Bank announced it would be stepping up its oversight on banks. We have more on that report.
