The National Land Commission reclaims forty five acres of grabbed public land in Eldoret

25th February, 2015

The National Land Commission has reclaimed forty five acres of grabbed public land in Eldoret Uasin Gishu county and revoked the fake documents for the land. The public land, meant for a school has been in the middle of a tussle between the catholic church and Uasin Gishu county..it has since been reverted back to the county. National lands commission chair Mohammed Swazuri later handed letters of ownership to the county government and put a stop to any development in the plot as they prepare documents of ownership for the land. The chairman added that it was surprising that there are rampant land grabbing cases involving churches in the country and urged church leaders to stem the vice.
