2013/2014 Budget breakdown

A few minutes after three pm today, Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich took his position on the floor of parliament to present the Jubilee government’s maiden budget.it was a budget full of many firsts with the theme of transformation for shared prosperity under pinned on a growth prospect of 5.8% for the calendar year 2013.the key highlights of his statement dwelling on improving Kenya’s state of transport and infrastructure, security, health and food security. It is a budget that will see the government spend slightly over one point six trillion shillings, with over ninety per cent to be funded from within, the rest being appropriation in aid. However much of these will be spent on paying salaries and other wage related costs, a continuing concern for tax payers
