The vetting of Margaret Nyakang’o comes barely a week after Malindi member of parliament Aisha Jumwa 
accused president Uhuru Kenyatta  of sidelining the coastal region while sharing state jobs. Jumwa felt that the position of the contoller of budget should have been taken by Stephen Masha who was the deputy controller of budget before being appointed in acting capacity after the term of Agnes Odhiambo ended
