Lawyers now challenge ongoing demolition of buildings on riparian land

20th August, 2018

The International Commission of Jurists (ICJ), has condemned the government over disregards of the rule of law in the ongoing demolitions of buildings on public and the riparian land. The international human rights body has also blamed the government over what it terms 'guerilla?like' tactics evictions of people from Mau Forest. In a press conference in Nairobi, ICJ has asked the government to uphold the rule of law by using the recommendations of TJRC report, the Nd'ung'u report and the report of the Prime Minister's Task force on the conservation of Mau Forest Compex.
