Chief Justice David Maraga has today launched the national committee on criminal justice reforms at the Supreme Court today. The committee which draws various stakeholders in the judiciary aims to assist in the administration of criminal justice in the country. A 2017 audit indicated the criminal justice system by highlighting loopholes in the country such as oppressing the poor and thus necessitated the formation of the commission. The launch looped in the council of governors which was represented by its vice-chair and governor for Kirinyaga County Anne Waiguru, Attorney General Githu Muigai's office, judges and magistrates. The commission will be chaired by Lady Justice Grace Ngenye
