Weekend @ One: Jubilee leaders avert potential showdown by changing rally venue

18th September, 2016

Jubilee leaders averted a potential showdown with rivals CORD after they changed the venue of their Nairobi public rally today to Mlango Kubwa. The party had initially announced that it would hold a parallel rally in Mathare where CORD is scheduled to hold its rally after a series of roadshows and a delegate’s forum. Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho is leading the CORD brigade. Mathare MP Stephen Kariuki sent communication to the effect that the Jubilee leaders will inspect development projects before holding their mass rally.
