Eldoret well contaminated with unleaded oil

Uasin Gishu County security team has deployed police officers to cordon off a well contaminated with unleaded petrol in Maili Nne area in a bid to protect the public against the impending danger. It is still unclear where the petrol is coming from because two others wells 50 meters around the place were also having fuel residues, with locals suspecting the petrol was seeping from leaking underground tanks of two petrol stations some 100 metres away.Eldoret KPC project engineer Kibitok Letting said that their plant is well designed and they could easily detect any leakage, adding that if the fuel could be seeping from their station it could have affected the wells next to the firm before spreading to far ends like.
