A Nairobi teacher accused of defiling a form one student charged in court

14th October, 2015

A Nairobi teacher accused of defiling a form one student has been charged in court. Hillary Okeyo of Highridge secondary school was charged with two counts of defiling the girl and committing an indecent act on her. The biology teacher has denied all the charges and remanded in police custody until Friday when his bail application will be determined. The prosecution is opposed to his release, saying he is likely to interfere with evidence by contacting students and staff who are listed to testify against him. The prosecution also wants him interdicted by the school, arguing that he is not fit to continue undertaking his functions as a teacher.
