Kenyan Wilson Kipsang has broken the marathon world record by 15 seconds as he claimed the Berlin title on Sunday. The 31-year-old clocked a time of two hours three minutes 23 seconds to better the previous mark set by compatriot Patrick Makau two years ago. That was also in the German capital, when Makau ran 2:03:38 over 26.2 miles. Fellow Kenyans Eliud Kipchoge and Geoffrey Kipsang finished second and third respectively in this year's marathon.
