"We thank the members of the public for continuing sharing information with security agencies. It's the only way to make Mombasa safe. We urge them to come forward and share with us and we will act accordingly at the same time treating the information confidential," said Muriithi.

The CCIO boss sent a strong warning to the cartels behind the racket of supplying poisonous products unfit for human consumption that their days were numbered.

He further said the suspected woman who was arrested will face the charges once the investigations are complete.

The cooking oil which was manufactured on December 18, 2017, and expired on December 18, 2018, according to details; was to be repackaged for sale to the unsuspecting public.

Other officials who took part in the seizure are drawn from public health, Kenya Revenue Authority, Kenya Bureau of Standards, Kev's and Anti-Counterfeit Authority officials.
