Kenya: Kenya Airports Authority has fired Managing Director Lucy Mbugua following ongoing investigations into the Passenger Transfer Services tender (Apron Bus Services) at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Also sent packing in the announcement made Saturday evening is Finance General Manager John Thumbi and Acting Airport Engineer Christopher Warutere.

Interdictions for Procurement Manager Lilian Okidi and Head of Examination Martin Kamau were uplifted and both recalled to duty.

However, Legal Counsel Victor Arika’s interdiction was upheld pending further investigations.

KAA Board Chairman David Kimaiyo said the board took action after a meeting on Friday. The officers sent home have been on interdiction.

"The board held its 229th meeting on Friday and took action on the officers who had been interdicted. KAA board is committed to keep the public updated on the status of the ongoing investigations," Kimaiyo said.
