The SHEQ Coordinator is responsible for leading the safety, health, environment and quality assurance programs within the business, they supervise and coordinate work systems to ensure that the products and services of the company meet the highest quality standards and that the working conditions of the company are favourable and safe. To lead, develop and maintain AVA Factory SHEQ management programs and systems in written format and recording and through face to face contact, communication and team briefing. To support line management in delivering SHEQ objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

·      Leads the health, safety, environment and quality initiatives across the plant

·      Maintenance of ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 QMS in the Plant

·      Support the implementation of ISO45001:2018

·      Support the implementation of ISO14001:2015

·      Supports the internal audit program for all ISO standards and ensure that the business is properly resourced with fully trained internal auditors for each area

·      Ensures that preparations for annual S&H, Environment & QA audits are timely & complete.

·      Ensure that health, safety and environment committee is

·      Coordinate the activities of the fire team and first aid team

·      Ensure fire drill training to staff is done frequently and that standard fire drill is done at least once a year as per occupational health & safety Act,2007

·      Ensure all required SHE related licenses are obtained as per required

·      Ensure that all fire extinguishers in the plant are inspected by the contractor every six months

·      Supports the internal audit program for all ISO standards and ensure that the business is properly resourced with fully trained internal auditors for each area

·      Advises line management and assists with the implementation of new or existing SHEQ-related legislation, rules and Company standards to include fire prevention, health and safety awareness training, site inspections of Company and contractor’s sites

·      To complete prevention inspections on a regular basis and ensure records of same are maintained

·      To investigate incidents & accidents and ensure all documentation is updated

·      To prepare & manage SHEQ Communication plan, including written information, digital communication, communication boards, toolbox talks and management briefs

·      Liaison with HR. Dept. for initiating and coordinating training plan and updating information for personnel, audit and QMS requirements

·      Provides support and expertise to line management in accident and/or dangerous occurrence incidents’ investigation and reporting

·      Facilitates all forms of risk assessment e.g. general, manual handling, fire prevention and acts as a final authority where a specialist response is required in relation to risk assessments performed by others on site

·      Conducts occupational health and safety related surveys e.g. noise, lighting, exposure to chemical substances and makes associated recommendations

·      Produces the yearly SHEQ action plan and longer term SHEQ roadmap, prepares reports for monthly update to the Operations Manager

·      Monitors the “permit-to-work” system to ensure compliance with Company standards and DOSH legal requirements

·      Perform any other duty given to you by your superiors

Qualifications and Experience required

·      Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Quality Systems / Occupational Health, Safety &Environment

·      Bachelor of science degree or Engineering degree plus General NEBOSH Certificate

·      HAZOP Certificate

·      First Aid Basic Certificate

·      Lead Auditor for ISO9001:2015

·      Lead Auditor for health & safety

·      Lead Auditor for Environment

·      Registered with DOSH as a trainer or Auditor is an added advantage.

·      Must have at least three (3) years’ proven working experience in SHEQ management position.
