Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail gathering information on programmes and significant events, editing stories on topical issues of mutual concern, scheduling interviews with Government officials and managing assigned projects and programmes under the guidance of the head of the unit/section

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have;

i. A Degree in any of the following disciplines, in the case of holders of general social science degrees: mass Communication, Communication Studies, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution/University;

ii. A post-graduate diploma in any of the following: Mass Communication, Communications studies, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution/University

iii. Compliance with the requirements of chapter 6 of the constitution;

iv. Possess good oral and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili;

v. Be proficient in Information Communication Technology including use of internet and intranet services; and

vi. Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
