Our various media platforms include: The Standard Newspaper, KTN, KTN News, btv, Farmers TV, Radio Maisha, Vybez Radio, Spice FM,The Nairobian weekly newspaper and Standard Digital. As part of strengthening our operations,we are looking for a smart, creative and ambitious individual to join the Editorial- Audio Visual team in the following capacity.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
This role is responsible for creating visual content for all platforms (still and animated) for Broadcast, Print and Digital.
Maintain the design line of Standard Group’s products (across all relevant platforms) and follow the Group’s visual and branding guides for all content produced.
Make use oftemplates on news items that do not require a high degree of design, releasing time spent on big impact content. • Create infographics as required by the relevant output areas, developing and producing high quality graphics for print, television and digital channels.
Work closely with the editorial teams,when stories are being developed,to produce innovative graphics content as a key element ofthe storytelling, not just to illustrate a story.
Plan and produce dynamic and engaging daily and long- term visual journalism and storytelling, including both complex and routine graphic elements, maps, charts and illustrations.
Offer and execute creative graphic solutions for content presentation
Implement and ensure consistent, high design standards
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or a relevant field from a recognized institution
3 years relevant experience
Skills and Attributes
Have a journalistic mindset, capable of generating stories through graphics material for all platforms and brands
Excellent understanding of data visualization concepts
