Powered by its vast fibre optic infrastructure, it is also a major provider of wholesale carrier-to-carrier traffic, within the country and the region.
The incumbent will be responsible for Program Management of all Quality and Network Optimisation Projects across the regions. This position is responsible for developing, coordinating and facilitating with internal and external teams timely completion of Quality and Optimization projects for Telkoms telecommunications network. Responsibilities will include developing end to end milestone management plan, tracking and reporting, and identification and support in resolution of issues. Will collaborate with Network Performance Team for Optimisation initiatives. This person will also work closely with engineering and operations’ resources and have detailed knowledge of assigned projects. Will need to communicate and provide regular status with respective teams and management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Follow up and track quality assurance projects
Report on activities done and actions taken to improve Network Quality
Hands-on requirement to mine & analyze network data, and generate quality performance dashboards
Good Understanding of RAN, TX & Core Network
Knowledge of Network Quality Assurance Process & lifecycle
Help to develop processes, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Report and escalate to management as needed
Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
Perform risk management to minimize project risks
Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
Prepare project status reports and steering committee presentations
Oversee creation and maintenance of comprehensive project documentation throughout the project
Manage team, ensuring achievement of goals, capability, and optimal deployment
Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
Knowledge of statistical & Visualization tools like excel, SQL & Power BI
Knowledge of Network OSS Tools like PRS, U200, ENIQ and Netnumen
Comfortable using data to drive the right metrics and outcome
Strong planning, organizational and critical thinking skills
Academic background & Professional Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Telecommunications or another related field.
Qualified and accredited project manager (PMP) or Prince 2
Proficient in Microsoft Project
Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in managing projects.
