SHELTER-AFRIQUE is a leading pan -African Development Finance Institution that is dedicated to investment in housing and urban development in Africa. The company provides advisory services and project management services for delivery of large-scale affordable housing projects, as well as lines of credit to financial institution to finance access to affordable housing in 44 African countries. The Company has its Head Office in Nairobi and a network of Regional Offices in Abuja, Abidjan and Nairobi.
1.0. Overall Purpose Reporting to the Managing Director, the Executive Driver will handle a variety of administrative tasks.
2.0. Key responsibilities will include: o Driving the MD daily to the desired destination. o Responsible for the upkeep of the car i.e., to ensure the car (interior and exterior) is clean, tidy and well maintained at all times. o Assist with loading and unloading of luggage. o Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip. o Must understand the protocols of handling dignitaries, punctual and always maintains a good working attitude. o Maintains confidentiality of passenger’s information and travel routes. o Follow and comply with road and traffic rules at all times. o To wear the uniform provided by the Company at all times when on duty and to ensure that the uniform worn is clean, tidy and properly ironed. o Must work on weekends if MD’s travel plans extend to the weekend. o Willing to work odd hours and be called upon any time of day. o Perform minor general maintenance and / or servicing task on the vehicle on regular basis to meet safety requirement. o Must be diligent, honest and a person of high integrity. o Ad hoc duties as and when assigned.
3.0. Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Competencies • Education: High school or tertiary education • Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position and preferably in an international organization or diplomatic mission • Must have security training and experience. • Must have a good understanding of driving etiquette and protocols. • Highly responsible, organized, able to work independently and pay keen attention. • Must be bilingual. (Fluent in both French and English.) • Must be confidential and professional at all times. • Ability to prioritize tasks according to the importance. • Must have a valid driver's license.
