Key Responsibilities;

  1. Develop and implement the overall KCBIA business strategy; to ensure achievement of profitability targets through revenue maximization and prudent cost management.
  2. Proactively manage the KCBIA business plan, to set objectives, forecast, prepare annual budgets and drive the achievement of the unit’s financial targets.
  3. Drive sustainable growth through the delivery of innovative and customized Insurance solutions to meet identified customer needs.
  4. Ensure strong cross- selling of existing and new products to existing and new clients; and in this process, maintain effective liaison with all relevant business units in the KCB Group.
  5. To build and maintain collaborative and strategic relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders to drive the development and delivery of business solutions.
  6. Champion the delivery of consistent, seamless and trusted customer service to ensure customer retention and loyalty.
  7. Maintains a detailed and current understanding of the industry; (at a macro, current market structures, trends; regulatory requirements and issues) to ensure that that opportunities are realized and the risks mitigated.
  8. Spearhead the reviews and implementation of quality operations standards, risk management and ensure compliance to the Company’s policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  9. Manage and maintain a robust monitoring, controls, business continuity, governance and risk management environment for the KCBIA.
  10. Lead, motivate, and continuously develop a credible high performing team.



Qualifications and Requirements;

  1. Have 6-8 years of relevant professional experience in Executive/Senior Management working in the Insurance and or related financial services.
  2. Experience in managing an Insurance Brokerage agency is preferable.
  3. Have proven track record of attaining targets of business growth and profitability of insurance or annuity products.
  4. Degree in Insurance, or Business, Finance, or other related field from an accredited institution and relevant professional qualifications.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  6. Demonstrable cross-cultural, people and relationship management skills, interpersonal skills, networking and negotiation skills, with the ability to lead and work well in a team environment and/or independently. 
  1. Commercial outlook — desire to generate revenue in cooperation with other entities of KCB Group Limited. Entrepreneurial / desire to succeed.
  2. Have appreciation and operating knowledge of the regional financial services industry (especially operating dynamics of East Africa), market and global trends as well as challenges
  3. Sound understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements of corporate governance, business and Insurance operations of East Africa.
  4. Demonstrable ability to adapt and operate in a matrix management and reporting environment.
  5. Highest standards of personal conduct, professional performance and business ethics.
