Reporting to the Human Resource Director the specific expectations of this role include, but are not limited to:

1. Review of the talent management framework and associated documentation with the aim of refining/developing a framework and solutions aligning with Centum’s sectors of operations and the laws and regulations of the jurisdictions and to Global Human Resource best practice standards.

2. Communicating the refined talent management framework across the various subsidiaries within the Group and instituting the relevant policies.

3. Implementing the redesigned talent management solutions in support of the strategy of Centum and its subsidiaries. This will include execution of the following key processes:

  • Automation of processes to enable the talent decision making process.
  • Comprehensive assessment of talent needs across the Group in line with the Group’s key strategic objectives; and establishment of a resource plan for the current strategy period;
  •  Implementation of a creative and innovative talent sourcing strategy to enable successful attraction of top talent across all levels of the business;
  • Implementation of a performance management system with a clear line of sight of the Group’s strategic objectives across the organization and ensure that every staff member can clearly understand the link between the individual’s efforts and the Group’s performance as well the measurement of the same.
  •  Implementation of a revised comprehensive talent retention strategy based on an in-depth and objective understanding of staff needs and expectations, with the overarching objective of distinguishing Centum as an employer of choice on the basis of its market-leading people practices.
  • Proactively identifying critical capability gaps in new and evolving roles across the group and develop, implement and manage a robust training and development plan that will ensure an adequately developed team with effective return on investment for the Group.
  • Developing, implementation and management of a succession planning strategy that focuses on building an effective talent pipeline which  addresses current  and  future  business  needs;  conduct  individual leadership, career and talent assessments as appropriate across the groups subsidiaries

  • Reviewing the current HR information management system and refine the same with an objective of instituting efficiency & effectiveness and implement the same across the Group.

4.  Leveraging on the existing technology in order to design an effective and appropriate tool for managing the Group reward proposition with confidential, efficient and accurate in-house solutions.

5.  Partnering with the Group CEO & Executive teams across the Group as a talent subject matter expert overseeing all programs and activities related to talent processes and practices.

Key competencies;

  • Subject matter depth with a proven track record of successfully developing high-performing teams through execution of effective talent management initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with C-suite teams to drive change at both an organization and business unit level;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to build, manage relationships and work with and across a diversified group of individuals.
  • Excellent communication and training skills
  •  Project and program management experience, with evidence of consistent delivery of projects within time, budget and quality.
  • Proven ethical and effective leadership skills.

Additional requirements;

  •  Current and previous employment tenures must be/have been for time periods that allow tangible experience in initiation, execution and oversight of projects successfully.
  • Experience in talent management across various sectors will be an added advantage.
