REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Project Engineer will report to the Project Officer. 

RESPONSIBILITY

? Be part of a team in authority and community engagement for participation, ownership and sustainability of the water, sanitation intervention.

? In consultation with the Project Officer, he/she will support ongoing work on the planning, assessment and design of water and sanitation solution.

? Support in preparation of technical drawing, design, tender document and estimates of appropriate and acceptable water supply system and sanitation facilities

? Identify water and sanitation options against context, well informed by robust assessment, analysis, scenario and programme objectives.

? Support the Project Officer in planning and carrying out safe hygiene practices awareness sessions on inclusive sustainable safe water and sanitation solutions for community projects.

? Participate in project supervision and evaluation activities, including measurement, writing of progress reports and water quality.

? Promote income-generating activities around water sources.

 QUALIFICATIONS

? BSc in Engineering (Civil engineering; Mechanical or Construction)

? 1-2 years’ experience in water and sanitation project design, supervision, contract management, tendering, community & authority engagement and budgeting

? Willingness to learn, travel and live in remote areas with basic amenities.

COMPETENCES

? Strong interpersonal skills and attentive to details;

? Able to deliver quality work within tight deadlines with minimal supervision;

? Hard working and results oriented;

? Strong communication skills

? Ability to write clearly, concisely, and in a logical manner.
