Duties and responsibilities will entail:
i. Reading through the cases allocated to them and identifying reportable cases as per the Law Reporting Policy;
ii. Preparation of case summaries for the cases identified as reportable as per the Law Reporting Policy;
iii. Analysing case law and synthesizing the trend of jurisprudence within a particular area of law.
iv. Researching on precedent setting authorities within varied jurisdictions of common law;
v. Writing analytical summaries of written arguments or evidence and assessing the argument in light of academic legal literature and case law;
vi. Carrying out research on changes which have taken place in the Laws of Kenya so as to facilitate revision of statutes;
vii. Conducting situational analysis of the legal systems; and
For consideration to this position, a candidate must have:
i. Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized institution.
ii. Completed the academic programme at the Kenya School of Law.
iii. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
iv. Team player with proactive attitude.
