Roles and Responsibilities;

 

•Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of the business strategy;
•Identification of new investments and business opportunities to grow the topline, enhance profitability and increase shareholder value;
•Manage the day to day relationships with the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) and
report to the Board on all management issues;
•Closely work with the Sharia Supervisory Council on regulatory and Sharia compliance
matters;
•Navigate the business operating environment and increase market penetration;
•Create brand dominance and increase visibility for TIA;
•Promote the understanding of Takaful insurance to drive market inclusion for non-islamic market share;
•Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and risk procedures;
•Ensure that efficient and effective information technology systems are in place in order to facilitate smooth running of the company;
•Develop and nurture relationships with business partners, regulatory authorities and the general public;
•Ensure relationship building and customer satisfaction are prioritised in all the branches of the company;
•Supervise all heads of departments and evaluate overall performance at branch and corporate level;
•Nurture the organisation’s human resource and ensure availability of a comprehensive talent recruitment, development and reward strategy that attracts and retain competent employees for the company;
•Ensure that all employees are kept motivated and are working towards achievement of company objectives at branch and corporate level by putting in place robust policies; and
• Ensure that the Board is frequently appraised about the operation of the company through presentation of relevant Board papers.
Requirements;

 

The successful candidate should have:
•12 years working experience five (5) of which should be in a senior management position in a large and busy organisation
•Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in a Business related field preferably in insurance, marketing or finance from a recognized University
•Recognized insurance professional qualifications such as MIFP/CIFP or ACII
•Experience in financial management, planning, budgeting and regulatory compliance.
•Proven experience in leading and managing large teams of people with diverse backgrounds
•Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and a proven track record in business growth
•Moral and ethical grounding
•Excellent communication skills
•High emotional intelligence, be flexible and open minded
