Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the growth of the merchant acquiring business on volumes, distribution, value proposition and bottom line
  • Spearhead the delivery of Merchant services support
  • Derive strategies for Merchant recruitment in line with the bank’s objectives and ambition.
  • Champion and oversee Merchant relationship management
  • Support and provide direction to the Merchant technical and operational support functions of the business
  • Lead the implementation of Merchant training
  • Offer the day to day management of the merchant acquiring teams
  • Identify, initiate & Steer the merchant acquiring internal stakeholder engagements and relationships with support and related functions and units.
  • Manage external stakeholder partnerships including card schemes, regulators and business partners
  • Timely delivery of merchant acquiring projects for the business

The Person:

For the above position, the successful applicant have the following minimum requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a Business related field from an institution recognized by Commission of Higher Education.
  • Professional certification in MBA or Banking is added advantage.
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in managing Card Business with below responsibilities:
  • Sales, Relationship Management, Credit, Banking Operations,
  • Merchant Acquiring, Card Operations & Schemes Operations
  • Team Management & Project Management
  • Thorough knowledge of Card Business Products & Services with extensive Banking Industry knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to network, generate new business and develop strong business relations.
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated competencies in championing high performance management.
  • A good understanding of Risk, Compliance policies and procedures.
