Key Duties & Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be expected to:

  1. Maintain the Database Management systems to support new and existing applications;
  2. Ensure maintenance of the database systems including performance tuning, efficiency and capacity planning;
  3. Design, Develop, manage and test backup and recovery plans for the database systems;
  4. Update and amend existing databases;
  5. Set up and test new database and data handling systems;
  6. Ensure database security and Integrity of data
  7. Manage upload of data files between databases;
  8. Create complex query definitions that allow data to be extracted;
  9. Liaise with vendors on support of system or database issues that may arise;
  10. Develop application and database solutions to meet and drive business needs and requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  2. SQL/Oracle certified database administrator
  3. Technical experience in supporting Microsoft Sharepoint.

Required Experience

A minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience.

Key skills, Knowledge & Competencies

  1. Ensure that technical solutions, procedures and models for development are up-to-date and comply with standards;
  2. Demonstrate the ability to verify the development and design of database strategies;
  3. Demonstrate prior expertise and competencies on implementation of Microsoft Dynamics Navision;
  4. Ability to recommend adapting processes to keep pace with new technological developments;
  5. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  6. Be able to adopt clear processes and standards for managing performance to achieve priorities
  7. Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision and be able to adapt quickly to changing conditions
  8. Demonstrate ability to deliver outcomes and delivery;
