Key Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Understand company needs, anticipate staffing requirements for new business lines, and incorporate strategy into talent development plans
  • Suggest changes in staffing, roles, and responsibilities based on the evolving needs of the organization and the talent resource available at Access Afya
  • Create the clinical hiring machine that can continue to find individuals with the right fit and onboard great talent as the pace of clinic growth increases
  • Promote an environment of unique personal and professional development
  • Create an awareness among staff of the interconnections between themselves and other employees
  • Manage and balance the needs of a team of permanent and temporary employees
  • Develop and improve on our culture of performance, including KPI and strategy engagement, benefits, and mentorship.
  • Be a confidant to all team members, making time for them and keeping a regular pulse of the mood of the team members and collective.
  • Stay abreast of the best ways to attract new talent in the market including managing relationships with various recruiting channels, and be a magnet for good people.

Maintain and monitor training plans in line with Department of Health and follow-up on completions

  • Maintain compliance with prevailing regulatory Human resource policies and legalities for the organization and its employee.

You are mature and independent, and can gain the trust and respect of our team. You’ve had experience negotiating conflicts and building strong teams. You know that trust and clarity are key to creating a culture of performance. You do not become overwhelmed when the people around you are overwhelmed or expressing discontent. You care about talent but also passionately about the mission of Access Afya, and want our social enterprise to succeed.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or similar courses in fields like industrial relations, industrial psychology or business management.
  • At least 3 years of work experience, the ideal candidate is mature and has overseen talent for medium to large organizations
  • Experience in supporting and developing staff in multiple locations
  • Great oral and written communication
  • Open and comfortable speaking up and sharing your opinion
  • Highly networked, or ready to build a network, in clinical and medical fields
  • Registered with Human Resources Management Professionals Examination Board (HRMPEB) or a certified Human Resources Body.
  • Proven track record recruiting professional at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with metrics, numbers and trends
  • Comfortable rolling up sleeves to get things done in tandem with participating in strategic planning
