We are looking to hire Lecturers for the Department of Engineering, and Building & Civil Technology for the following disciplines

·         Civil Engineering

·         Building Construction (inclusive of plumbing, Masonry, Carpentry and Joinery)

·         Engineering (Electrical and Electronics)

Reporting to the Head of Department, the Lecturers will be in charge of teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities in the classes assigned to them.



  1. Contributing to the development, planning and implementation of a high quality curriculum that will incorporate entrepreneurship and innovation;
  2. Assisting in the development of learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance for all classes assigned to them;
  3. Monitoring the effectiveness of, and the demand for, a course in order to predict future developments and changes;
  4. Participating in the development, administration and marking of exams and other assessments;
  5. Evaluating the outcome of individuals’ learning through formal assessment ( e.g CATs) or informal methods(group participation) and ensuring constructive feedback is given;
  6. Ensuring that the subject course outline is sufficiently covered within the allocated time, and ensuring that students are adequately prepared for their examinations ;
  7. To keep up to date with relevant subject area(s) through further training and/or appropriate reading and private study;
  8. To encourage extracurricular development by introducing, actively participating and involving students in extracurricular activities;
  9. Handling students’ grievances that relate to their learning needs and forward any issues beyond your capability to the HOD and the Head of Academic Affairs/Principal when it becomes necessary to do so;
  10. Submitting weekly reports as required by the Quality Assurance office;
  11. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time;


  1. Be a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in either of the disciplines outlined above or other relevant courses. Possession of a Master’s and PhD degree in relevant disciplines will be an added advantage; (or 2 below)
  2. Have a Teaching Certificate/ Diploma in Technical Training Education from Kenya Technical Trainers College with experience in teaching Plumbing, Masonry.
  3. Must have attained at least a C+ grade in KCSE;
  4. Must have 3+ years of teaching knowledge and experience, in a distinguished college;
  5. Demonstrate a good understanding of the Ministry of Education’s and TVETA’s college guiding policy;
  6. Should have outstanding presentation, teaching, interviewing, problem analysis and listening skills;
  7. Knowledge of curriculum development, Implementation and Evaluation as well as current trends in technical Education;
  8. Should demonstrate the ability to grow, support and develop young talents;
  9. Strong computer skills, including high level of proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
  10. Ability to probe for, analyze and synthesize information, as well as express ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing;
  11. Ability to make quick yet sound decisions;
  12. Ability to work independently, problem solve, and be persistent;
  13. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, self-driven attitude towards work, and commitment to the mission of the institutions;
