Profile Summary

The post holder will use innovative and creative methods in technology to communicate CMA’s work. She/he should be conversant in social media, print, digital and publications in order to give beneficiaries a voice. She/he should also demonstrate a strong track record of working within the media sector and understandings of how to build donor relationships within a diverse range of media tools in a professional context. She/he must understand and be committed to CMA’s vision, mission and core values.



Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in sourcing and delivering of innovative fundraising initiatives for the existing portfolio of events in line with CMAs fundraising strategy
  1. Assist in identifying, creating, marketing and delivering new innovative fundraising activities which have a real impact on beneficiaries and supporters.
  1. Support the Manager with the administrative and logistical arrangements for CMA’s donors, visitors and work teams.
  1. Update CMA’s social media on a regular basis with relevant materials, highlighting key events and achievements using Web communications/ social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and blogs among others.
  1. Support in development, design and maintenance of publications such as newsletters, donor reports, brochures, magazines, appeals, press reports and the likes, to effectively communicate CMAs work e.g. the design and production of CMA newsletters in Adobe InDesign.
  1. Assist with CMA documentation, donor reports, proposal writing as needed by Project Managers/Directors.
  1. Respond in a timely fashion to routine enquiries and requests from our donors/visitors.
  1. Assist in determining the communications needs of CMA and develop country based plans and budgets to provide communications support.
  1. Act as a liaison between the organization and the donors, by providing them with follow up reports, videos, and publications, human-interest stories/photos on the programs they have been funding or visiting.
  1. Develop and maintain a lasting relationship with donors to ensure on-going support through increased communication and donor stewardship.
  1. Any other duties within the nature and scope of the position.



  1. University Degree in Communications, preferably in Print Media studies or Journalism.
  1. Excellent writing skills, communication and presentation skills to enhance donors’ relations. With experience working in multi-disciplinary teams, displaying cultural, gender, race, nationality, age sensitivity and adaptability.
  1. Competent IT skills and experience in the use of MS Office and Adobe suite photography, and writing for the web.
  1. Basic experience in operating multimedia equipment including digital cameras, video recording equipment, and webcam and voice recorders.
  1. At least 2 years of professional experience in NGO communication and publication department is an added advantage.
  1. Self-motivated, with good judgment, trainable and initiative.
