Scope of Work

The purpose of this consultancy is to support the UNICEF’s country offices with the office documents and content migration process into the new platform.

In each of the assigned office, the consultant will complete the inventory of the office documents, map and provide naming convention/taxonomy as per the ECM requirements and upload in the platform. Provide support to various sections in identifying the content creation process in the platform and relevant training as per the project. The consultant will also participate and support the regional and country discussion forums related to the project

The Regional ICT Chief will have day-to-day supervision of the Content Migration Consultants, while the efficacy and outcome, along with the project plans will be jointly overseen by the Regional ICT Chief and the ECM Senior Project Manager.

Implement the ECM recommended naming convention on existing content

Implement the ECM-recommended folder structure

Analyze content with support from the ECM team and the local Subject Matter Experts and Content Owners

Upload the content in the respective platform for the CO

Provide report based upon the template provided by the content migration coordinator

 Payment Schedule

Payment is upon satisfactory completion of deliverables on a monthly basis.

Please note that the final remuneration will be negotiated by HR. 

Desired competencies, technical background and experience 

  • Advanced degree in one of the following fields: communications, social sciences, Advance university degree in information management, computer science, or data related field or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience working with unstructured or structured information
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain work relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills
  • Understanding of SharePoint desirable


  • Fluency in English is required
  • Working knowledge of another UN language, such as Spanish, French or Arabic (depending on the Region), is required as per the needs of each region.

Administrative issues 


All travel arrangements to commence and end of assignment, including insurance and visas, will be managed and paid by the individual. Short travel for about 5 days would be required for about 5 countries in Eastern and Southern Africa. Therefore, expected travel costs must be included as a budget item in the financial proposal.  


As per UNICEF policy, payment is made against approved deliverables. No advance payment is allowed unless in exceptional circumstances against bank guarantee, subject to a maximum of 30 per cent of the total contract value in cases where advance purchases, for example for supplies or travel, may be necessary.

The candidate selected will be governed by and subject to UNICEF’s General Terms and Conditions for individual contracts.  The Consultant may not publish or disseminate reports, data collection tools, collected data or any other documents produced from this Consultancy without the permission of and acknowledgement of UNICEF.
