Olivier Giroud had a go at reporters and came close to storming out of a post-match interview before being persuaded to stay by reporters.

The Chelsea striker was speaking after France's 3-1 victory over Russia on Tuesday when he lost his rag.

Giroud was dropped for France's second friendly in place of Kylian Mbappe who scored two goals, both either side of a Paul Pogba free-kick.

The 31-year-old, who left Arsenal for Chelsea in January, came on as a second half substitute for Ousmane Dembele.

While speaking to press in the mixed zone at full-time, Giroud noticed the reporters' eyes drawn to Mbappe who walked past in the background.

After clocking that the reporters were distracted, Giroud spat: "You want to see him? Go see him then!"

The Frenchman looked like he was about to storm off but the journalists quickly persuaded him to stay as one is heard saying: "No, no, no. I talk to you, OK?"

Giroud then performs a U-turn and finishes his question.

It was an unexpected reaction from the France international but an insight into his current state of mind.

The forward has started just four out of a possible nine games for Chelsea since moving to west London earlier this year.

Olivier Giroud has had a torrid stint in the last days of his career at Arsenal, where he was relegated to the bench after the acquisition of his compatriot Alexandre Lacazette.

The Frenchman later signed for Chelsea over the January transfer window but has struggled to hit the back of the net despite linking so well with Chelsea attackers like Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro.

After having scored only one goal, the former Arsenal man will be desperate to register better performances in the remaining 7 games as he eyes cementing his World cup spot.
