Mexican drug lord El Chapo expressed Interest in buying Chelsea

Mexican drug lord ‘El Chapo’ was apparently interested in buying Chelsea

Mexican drug lord Joaquin Guzman - better known as El Chapo - reportedly wanted to buy Chelsea before Roman Abramovich's take over in 2003.

Spanish outlet Sport claim that El Chapo, who was arrested last week after breaking out of prison in the summer, was keen on combining his passion for football and entrepreneurship by launching a bid to purchase the Blues.

The notorious criminal sneaked out of prison last year by riding a motorbike along a mile-long underground tunnel.

He is worth a reported £697million and is a big fan of Liga MX side Puebla.

The FA's fit and proper persons test may well have had something to say about the proposed takeover should any interest have officially come to the fore.
