Kenya’s Shah takes lead in Golding Safari Tour event

Kenyan Shujan Shah (pictured) came from behind to take Day Three lead with a round total of 3-under par 213 gross at the maiden Pam Golding Safari Tour Open golf Championships at Uganda’s  par 72 Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa course in Kigo, off Entebbe road yesterday.

The Sigona Club’s golfer who was sitting fourth after on Thursday on a round total of 143 gross, yesterday played a two under 70 gross to push his tally to a one stroke lead going to the final rounds today.

Kenya Professional Golfers Captain CJ Wangai also climbed from the fifth slot to the second slot on a round total of a two under par 214 gross after playing 72,73,69 gross in the three rounds.

Kenyans dominated the top leader board with Vet Lab’s Edwin Mudanyi sharing the third slot with Day One and Day Two leader Dismas Indiza of Mumias after both returned a score of one under par 215 gross each.

Royal club’s Erick Ooko and Muthaiga’s Greg Snow shares the fifth slot on a plus one over par 217 gross each.

Other Kenyans who survived the cut on Thursday were Golf Park’s Tonny Omuli (219 gross), Nyali’s Mathew Wahome (219 gross), Vet Lab’s Robinson Owiti (220 gross), Rift Valley’s Justus Madoya (220 gross).

Golf Park’s David Wakhu (222 gross), Railway’s Alfred Nandwa (223 gross), Windsor’s Rizwan Charania (223 gross) and Muthaiga’s Ganeeve Giddie (224) also made the cut.
