Kakamega Homeboyz cage Sharks to reclaim top spot

Kakamega Homeboyz bounced back to winning ways on Saturday after narrowly edging out Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 in a FKF Premier League match played at Kasarani Stadium.

David Okoth scored the winning goal of the match which saw Homeboyz reclaim top spot in the standings with 28 points, three more than second placed KCB who play on Sunday.

Sharks came to this game on the back of a 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars while Homeboyz were fresh from suffering their first league defeat at the hands of Talanta with a similar score line.

Okoth scored the winner from the penalty spot in the 55th minute which Homeboyz held on to register their eighth win of the season. Sharks dropped to fifth with 21 points after the defeat.

Elsewhere, Kenya Police held Bandari to a 0-0 draw at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa.

The other match pitting Ulinzi Stars and Sofapaka did not take place in Nakuru.

Homeboyz lead the standings ahead of Sunday’s fixtures where Gor Mahia face Mathare United, AFC Leopards host Nzoia Sugar, Tusker play Posta Rangers and KCB play Bidco.
