Kenya women's national football team up for a friendly match

The national women's football team, Harambee Starlets will play a friendly match against Egypt on Saturday evening at the Safaricom Kasarani Stadium.

This match will act a build up towards the preparations for the 2016 Rio Olympic qualifier set for April in Botswana.

The Pharaohs are expected in the country on Friday morning and expected to have a light training ahead of the match scheduled from 3pm.

This will be Kenya’s second time to stage the senior team to international qualifiers after they were eliminated by Amavubi of Rwanda in the African Women Championship in the first round.

Head coach David Ouma said he had a chance to select good players during the seventh leg of the league in Eldoret and is expected to trim down the team to 25 players by Thursday morning.

“I am happy FKF gave me an opportunity to select players. We are currently at Kasarani waiting for players to check in for residential training,” said Ouma who is also a CAF coaching instructor.

He will be assisted by Kenyan International Dorine Nabwire.
